US Vice -President JD Vance and State Secretary Marco Rubio were critical of the decision of the German internal intelligence agency BFV, which defined the Alternative for Germany (AFD) as a right -wing extremist organization. Vance is convinced that Germany is renovating the Berlin Wall, and Rubio warns of tyranny.
“The West has collapsed the Berlin Wall together. And again they built it – not the Soviets or the Russians, but the German establishment,” JD Vance wrote on the X network. Rubio also condemned the BFV decision and labeled it a “covert tyranny”, reports French news agency AFP.

“Germany has just gave its intelligence agency new powers to control the opposition. This is not democracy – it is a covert tyranny. Germany should change the direction. Truly extremist is not a popular AfD (…), but a deadly immigration policy (…), which AFD opposes,” Rubio added.

The German Foreign Ministry, meanwhile, in response to Rubio statements on the X Network X, advocated the decision of the BFV agency. “We have learned from our history that right -wing extremism should be stopped,” she wrote.
The BFV agency announced on Friday that it had identified the AFD party as a right -wing extremist organization. In doing so, she stated that there was sufficient evidence that AFD poses a threat to a German democratic order. “The dominant party’s understanding of people based on ethnicity and origin is incompatible with the free democratic fundamental order,” the BFV said.
Previously, the party was labeled right-wing extremist in three German countries, in Turing, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.
The party responded that it was a severe blow to democracy. “AFD is now publicly discredited and criminalized as an opposition party,” her leaders Alice Weidel and Tino Chrupall said in a statement. They are convinced that the decision is politically motivated.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, however, warned in response to the promise of the client. He noted that the Constitutional Court rejected all recent attempts to ban the party.
The Agency’s marking does not automatically into the prohibition of a political party. The prohibition can only be decided by the Constitutional Court at the request of one of the homes of parliament or the government.
Sorry, @GermanyDiplothis is NOT democracy. It’s opposite.
You are just fueling dark ghosts of the past, not preventing them.
Let’s hope the new 🇩🇪 government coming this week will use its power to defend democracy.
