The SaS opposition party filed a complaint to the General Prosecutor’s Office (GP) of the Slovak Republic to review the legality of the Council of Slovak Television and Radio (TVR) in securing the public of its negotiations. The party criticizes that other persons cannot come to the Council of the Council in person and the public of the negotiations is only carried out through online broadcasting. SaS asks that the GP check whether the Council proceeds in accordance with the law.

SaS officials filed a GP initiative last week. According to them, the Council does not allow other persons to participate in its negotiations and implement the legal requirement of the public of its negotiations only through the publicly available online audio broadcast, which publishes on the STVR on the website. “We consider the procedure of the Council of the STVR in this matter to be incorrect, misleading and purpose -built. Therefore, we have turned to the General Prosecutor’s Office.

Dostál said that although the Act on the QU it stipulates that the Council negotiations are public, the presence of the public was not allowed at the April meetings. According to him, the public meeting of the authority cannot be confused with public audio online broadcast. “In several Slovak laws, the public is also directly associated with the possibility of physical presence of persons, including media representatives at the meeting of such an authority,” he said.

The STVR Council will also vote for the New Director General of Telefront. “The Council arbitrarily decided to interpret the interpretation of what the public meeting means and limit the direct presence of the public at a public hearing and meeting the advice just when the candidates for the director of the quarter of the quarterly recalled,” René Parák from SaS said, saying that hearing candidates is to be held on 12 May.
