Progressive chief Michal Šimečka, as the main reasons for appeal, stated problems in the coalition, price price increase, collapse of health and a weak economy. “Instead of dealing with this Fico, it flies around the world, bow down to dictators and enjoys luxury,” he added. The opposition announced the proposal on Tuesday. Previously, Igor Matovič’s movement and non -parliamentary democrats joined the PS, KDH and SaS, and thus the opposition forces were imagined.
“We all took this step as the whole opposition represented in the National Council. This is an important moment. It is often not, even in previous periods, the whole opposition is not often that the whole opposition, despite all the differences, problems and personal relationships that can exist, united and took such a common step,” Šimečka said.
The Prime Minister will face the deputies in just a few days. “Yes, he is planning to convene the meeting on Tuesday,” said Chairman Peter Žiga (voice). “I confirm it,” he added that he has not expected anything from the President’s words to dismiss the government.
KDH chairman Milan Majerský appreciated that the opposition can agree on the values that connect it. According to him, they are universal values such as democracy, rule of law or justice. The Prime Minister criticizes the misunderstanding of the “cowardly” consolidation, but the inclination to the totalitarian regime is also essential. As he added, Fico navigates the country to the east.
“I am very pleased that this is how we stand here if our proposal before Christmas after the shameful visit of Robert Fico in Russia have joined other opposition parties,” said Mária Kolíková (SaS). According to her, the government under the prime minister is liquidating the state and its institutions. She pointed out that Slovak television and radio still have no statutory representative. As she added, the government has destroyed key institutions to fight corruption to ensure impunity for its own people. She said that Slovakia is losing sovereignty, becoming a vulnerable country, which means that it can become a puppet of powers.
The chairman of the Group Slovakia, for people, CH, Michal Šipoš thinks that the Prime Minister “has been doing a brothel” for a year and a half and therefore the opposition wants to dismiss him. Veronika Remišová (Slovakia, for people, Ú) added that Tuesday’s communication Fica in connection with a student who refused to Pellelegrini to shake hands is another reason for the fall of the government.
Even before the proposal was filed on Wednesday morning or the second attempt, the SR was not opened to open an extraordinary meeting to the foreign policy anchoring of the Slovak Republic. Since only 63 deputies were presented, Parliament was again not a quorum. Two Tuesday attempts brought the same resumes. The negotiations on this point thus moved to the nearest regular meeting of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, which should begin on 4 February. The negotiations were initiated by opposition MPs from PS, SaS and KDH.

The opposition asks for a resolution at the meeting by which Parliament confirms the foreign anchoring of Slovakia in the EU and NATO and will actively pursue and defend it. It considers this to be necessary with regard to the steps of the government in foreign policy. According to her, the adoption of a resolution is necessary to ensure the stability, safety and prosperity of citizens. Opposition MPs ask that the Minister of Foreign Affairs Juraj Blanár (Smer) come to the meeting in addition to Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer).
