The planned signing of the contract between CEZ and South Korean Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power on the construction of two nuclear blocks in Dukovany was postponed at the last minute.
The postponement of the largest public contract in the history of the Czech Republic was just before the arrival of the South Korean delegation, when the Regional Court in Brno decided on a preliminary measure on the basis of an action by the French company EDF, which unsuccessfully applied for the contract. For the South Korean side, this is the first large nuclear project abroad in the last at least fifteen years, with an estimated value of 400 billion Czech crowns (almost EUR 16 billion).

“We are convinced that the process of evaluating the offers has been correctly and in accordance with the applicable laws.
